A guardian review has praised Nevill Holt Opera’s ‘subtle and intimate’ opera house, describing it as ‘perfectly attuned to performers, audience and the elements’.
Speaking of the sense that audience and performers are in a single room, the broadsheet described its ‘intimacy and connection’ and the way that a skilful combination of natural elements are brought together with integrity and empathy, in harmony with the historic courtyard.
‘It’s virtues are intense levels of thoughtfulness and discreet wit’, said Rowan Moore for the Observer. ‘It is a place that can make opera feel fresh and alive.’
