We are delighted to share that we will present a socially distanced Winter Weekend festival in our RIBA Award-winning theatre at Nevill Holt from the 27-29 November. The indoor festival, which will feature a performance of Bernstein’s first opera, Trouble in Tahiti; cabaret from renowned duo Bounder & Cad; choral performances; festive Christmas concerts; “in conversation” events and more, follows a summer of outdoor events through which we were able to welcome more than 2,000 people to safely enjoy live music in the gardens.

Each event will last no longer than one hour, and the theatre will be cleaned between each performance. Between events, guests can either enjoy tours of the Nevill Holt gardens with Head Gardener, Andy Bretherick, or relax with a hot drink in the festival marquee.
At this time of year, we would usually give a performance of Handel’s Messiah or a work of an equivalent scale. With social distancing in place both for audiences and performers this just isn’t possible at the moment, but our summer concerts showed what a huge appetite for live performance there is across the Midlands. We want to be agile and creative, and to make sure that we can continue to share music and opera in a way that is financially viable. Winter at Nevill Holt is magical, and our beautiful new theatre has stood empty for far too long. We are really looking forward to presenting a full weekend of performances in our theatre, and to welcoming back the artists and audiences who are the beating heart of all that we do.
The festival will be carried out with strict social distancing and hygiene measures in place, and carefully following up-to-date and official advice and guidance. You can read more about the health and safety measures we will be taking here. If restrictions change and it becomes necessary to cancel these events, all ticket buyers will receive a full refund.
Tickets range from £12 to £35. Click here to book.
