Stage Management vacancies – Summer Festival 2022

We are looking for various roles in our Stage Management team for this summer’s festival:

  • Stage Manager
  • Assistant Stage Manager

  • To feel safe to approach any manager at Nevill Holt Opera with any issue big or small.


Stage Manager:
Period of engagement:
16th May – 4th July.

Key Elements:

  • To work in a co-operative and collaborative manner with the creative team, Company Manager and General Manager to facilitate the needs of the production in rehearsals and performances.
  • To lead and support the Stage Management team in running and maintaining rehearsals and production rehearsals.
  • To ensure that the technical standards of the production are maintained, consulting the relevant departments as appropriate.
  • To be aware of and compliant with Nevill Holt Opera’s Health and Safety Policy, produce and adhere to risk assessments and encourage a safe working environment along with colleagues.
  • To ensure that the artistic integrity of the production is continuously delivered throughout the production’s life.
  • To generate and maintain all necessary paperwork relating to the production.
  • To run the rehearsals both in the room and on stage efficiently and adhering to the schedule.
  • To work closely with the Production & Technical Manager and technical staff towards the fulfilment of the production to the highest standard.

Hours: You will be required to work weekdays and weekends with reasonable breaks and days off.



Assistant Stage Manager:
Period of engagement for 1 position: Immediate start – 14th June.

Key Elements:

  • To work in a co-operative and collaborative manner with the creative team, Company Manager and General Manager to facilitate the needs of the production in rehearsals and performances.
  • To ensure that the technical standards of the production are maintained, consulting the relevant departments as appropriate.
  • To source, make props for rehearsal and performances where necessary.
  • To be aware of and compliant with Nevill Holt Opera’s Health and Safety Policy, adhere to risk assessments and encourage a safe working environment along with colleagues.
  • To ensure that the artistic integrity of the production is continuously delivered throughout the production’s life.
  • To generate and maintain all necessary paperwork relating to the production.
  • To keep all plot and cue sheets up to date and backed up, and generate and maintain all paperwork necessary for the smooth running of the production.
  • To support on props and set maintenance.
  • To maintain adequate stocks of consumables.

Hours: You will be required to work weekdays and weekends.
