The long dining interval is one of the particularly distinctive and enjoyable features of a visit to a country house opera festival. Lasting up to 90 minutes, a variety of gourmet dining experiences will be on offer throughout the Nevill Holt gardens.

Garden Picnic

Bring your own picnic and dine in your own style al fresco on the lawn. Porters are available to help you carry your picnic from the car park, and the champagne bar is open for those last-minute refreshments.

Picnic Chapel

For those guests who want to bring their own picnic, but don’t want to sit on the grassy lawns, you can book a laid place at one of the tables in our Picnic Chapel. Atmospheric, cool on a hot day (or dry on a wet day!).

Kitchen Garden Buffet

Book a seat at our communal dining tables in the charming and popular Kitchen Garden Buffet, where you can help yourself from our cold buffet of fresh and locally sourced seasonal delights, including meat, fish and salads.

Dine in the Welland Valley Restaurant

Enjoy a two or three course cold, fresh gourmet meal in our pop up Welland Valley Restaurant, with mouth-watering menus based around seasonal food and restaurant service during our long dining interval. Diners will enjoy panoramic views across the beautiful Welland Valley.

Private Pavilions

Our Private Picnic pavilions are designed to accommodate parties of up to 12 people, and will be situated on the main lawn.

Guests hiring a pavilion can choose to bring their own picnic, or choose to dine from the Kitchen Garden menu, which can be served to their private party.

Font House

Dine in high style with a party of up to 14 in the exclusive Font House, set within its own walled garden. Call 01858 437 451 to enquire.

Sunday Afternoon Tea

Enjoy a delicious traditional afternoon tea, served during the 75 minute interval on Sundays. Afternoon tea will be served in the Welland Valley Restaurant marquee, located close to the theatre in 2021, and with panoramic views over the Welland Valley.
